About this page
These terms cover use of bryceelliot.comand any work performed by Elliot Digital (Bryce Elliot, sole proprietor, Lake Country, BC). They’re written in plain English on purpose. Specific engagements are governed by a separate written quote or statement of work, which takes precedence over anything here.
Using the website
You’re welcome to read, share, and link to anything on this site. Don’t scrape it at scale, copy entire pages onto your own domain, or pass off the writing as your own. The visual design, copy, and code are © Bryce Elliot, all rights reserved unless otherwise marked.
Engagements (when you hire me)
- Quotes are valid for 30 days. Anything outside the written scope is a separate quote.
- Monthly retainers(social, ads, ongoing marketing) are month-to-month. Cancel any time before the billing date — you’ll get the rest of the current month and that’s it. No early-termination fees.
- Website builds are flat-fee. 50% to start, 50% on launch. Hosting and domain renewal is billed annually.
- Late payments over 30 days pause active work. Hosting accounts that go 60 days unpaid will be suspended after a written notice.
Ownership of work
Once a project is paid in full, you own the deliverables — the website code, the photos, the videos, the copy. Elliot Digital retains the right to display the finished work in a portfolio, discuss it as a case study, and reference your business as a client, unless you ask in writing for it to stay private.
Third-party tools used in your project (a font license, a stock photo, a SaaS subscription) remain governed by their own licenses.
Hosting & domains
When Bryce hosts your site, the host is a sub-account on a managed provider. Uptime is best-effort and historically > 99.9%, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted service. You can move your domain and the source code to a host of your choice at any time.
Confidentiality
Anything you share that isn’t already public — financials, internal photos, customer lists — is treated as confidential. It stays inside Elliot Digital’s tooling and is not used for anything beyond your project.
Liability
Elliot Digital’s total liability for any single project is capped at the fees you paid for that project in the prior 12 months. We aren’t responsible for indirect or consequential losses (lost revenue, lost data not under our control, third-party platform changes, ranking fluctuations after a Google algorithm update, etc.).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes that can’t be resolved over a coffee will be handled by the BC courts.
Changes
If terms change, the “last updated” date at the top changes too. Material changes affecting an active engagement will be discussed with you directly before they apply.
